Deep (hole) drilling machine

Modern drilling machines are no longer used only for the production of long holes, but in many cases also for shorter holes with higher accuracy, i. e. for precision drilling. For deep hole drilling processes special devices for continuous coolant supply and steady chip removal are necessary. The layout of this machine type is similar to the rotary machine. Deep (hole) drilling machines are designed as short-bed and long-bed machine types and are available with vertical and horizontal layout. The usability of the vertical machine type is limited due to restrictions in the Y-axis travel range. In addition, deep (hole) drilling machines are available as single or multi-spindle machines.
